Olive oil treatment

Olives treatment is a series of procedures that are intended to get olive oil.
These procedures are listed below:

  • cleaning, washing and flower eliminating,
  • crushing the olives,
  • kneading of olive paste,
  • separating liquid phase (oil and vegetative water) from solid phase (pomace)
  • final separation phase

There are two ways of treatment today:

  • traditional treatment,
  • integral centrifugal system,

Automatic treatment

The most modern olive oil treatment

  • by continuous centrifugal treatment “on cold”
  • ecological and economical way of treatment
  • complete automatic filling of kneeding through pipes and valves

Olive’s fruit is picked from trees both manually and industrially with sticks, and falls on the protective net set on the ground. Such fruits are placed in plastic airy “coughs” with holes of approximately 70 × 70 cm in height and about 40 cm in height, so there is no cremation of the olives themselves of the weight, and there is a constant flow of air around them which makes it impossible to break.
After that, the olives are transported to the oil mill and inserted into the receiving basket in the technological process itself, whereupon the processing process begins.
Olive oil processing machines are automated and are the ultimate technological solution.
The olive oil production process is made without interruption, and can also be broken down, depending on the amount of olives and the wishes of individual customers whether their olives are processed. This is the latest practice in the Republic of Croatia, because everyone wants to have their own “oil”, which is slowing down in the technological process, but achieving exceptional quality and quality, which confirms the many awards and prizes that olive growers have gained in our market as well as Ino competitions.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

It is made up of the following machines and equipment

1. WASHING GROUP

Consist of

BELT ELEVATOR WITH HOPPER AND LEAVES REMOVER

Olives are putting into the hopper of elevator with a movable belt that delivers the olives to the leaf remover (with turbine). The leaf remover is located at the top of the elevator, it is equipped with electromotor and turbine. Here are removed residual leaves, and after that the olives fall into the washing machine.

HYDROPNEUMATIC WASHING MACHINE FOR WASHING OLIVES

In the washing machine by forcible circulation of water and air, through the electro pump, it performs final cleaning and washing so that the olives in the further process are completely clean. The water from the closed tank circulates, and by the centrifugal fan rinse the olives in the washing tank of washing machine. After that, the olives through the additional belt on the washing machine go to the final rinse, and washed, fall into another receiving hopper, just before crushing. This part of the treatment oilves is an important for obtaining the expected oil quality.
The hopper in which the olives are washing is projected in a way that at the end of treatment the eventual mechanical impurities (small pieces of stone or other) can be removed.

2. OLIVES SCREW ELEVATOR WITH HOPPER

The olives from the hopper, after a washing machine, are with screw elevator transporting to a hammer crusher. Screw elevator has possibility to regulate capacity speed of incoming olives to the hammer crusher (by the variable frequency driver).
The crusher is equipped with rotating grid and hammer impeller with plates which are crushing the olives into homogenized paste.

3. PISTON PUMP

Piston pump is used for transporting of crushed olive paste trough inox tubes with automatic air valves and glass inspection, and tubes to the kneading machine.

4. MOLINOVA KNEADING GROUPS WITH MONO PUMP

By mixing the pasta and circulating hot water in the double wall (closed system), the optimal preparation of pasta is achieved and practically begins part of the oil separation from the solid part of the olives.
During kneading, the pasta is heated to a maximum of 27 ° C, and a slight oil separation begins on the top of the pasta. This mixing process takes about 45 minutes and needs to be monitored by adding water to the pasta only if necessary.
The prepared pasta is transporting by mono pump to the centrifugal decanter through the feeding pipe, without the addition of water or, possibly, the minimum amount of cold water, where the separation process begins.
These kneaders each have their own control and temperature measurement, and it is possible to upgrade one more kneader when it is needed.

5. CENTRIFUGAL DECANTER AND VIBRO FILTER OIL COLLECTING TANK

In the decanter – the “heart of the system”, through the centrifugal force caused by the rotation of the horizontal screw, separates into 3 phases, oil, vegetative water and husk.
Adjusting the feeding pasta through a mono pump, determines the speed and processing capacity, depending on the amount of pasta. At the end of this stage of the process, by adding water, the decanter is completely flushed to be ready to accept a new amount of pasta.
The waste product – the husk is transporting by horizontal screw elevator under the decanter outside the olive oil plant to container, from where it is transported to the landfill.

Vibro filter collecting tank

The oil, as the final product, and the vegetative water from the decanter are filtered through a vibro filter in which are removes any residual impurities and is collected in a collecting tank from which is transporting to the final separation.
From the collecting tank, via the pump, the oil is transported to a centrifugal separator for final purification and separation.
On the oil side there are levels minimum-maximum for oil transport to the oil separator.

6. CONVERSION KIT FROM 3 TO 2 PHASE RUNNING AND OTHERVISE

This device is using for possibility to work in two phases (wet husk and olive oil) or in three phase (dry husk, vegetative water and olive oil).

7. FEEDING PUMPS FOR OIL AND VEGETATIVE WATER

It is using for the transport of vegetative water and olive oil, above the centrifugal separator.
Oil pumps are with an inverter.

8. HORIZONTAL SCREW CONVEYOR IN STAINLESS STEEL WITH MOTORIZATION

It is using for transporting of husk to the elevators, the screw is made from stainless steel (standard length 6 m)

9. HUSK INCLINED SCREW ELEVATOR IN STAINLESS STEEL

It is using to evacuate the husk out of the olive oil plant to a truck (length 7m)

10. CENTRIFUGAL SEPARATOR BRAVO WITH FEEDING TANK

The pre-filtered oil and the vegetative water from the tank below the vibro filter now enter in a vertical separator where final separation is done – purification as follows:

  • the oil from the residual small particles-a clear oil is obtained,
  • the remaining minimum residual amounts of oil in vegetative water

The same is achieved by centrifugal force and rotation in the separator bowl at 6400 rpm with the addition of warm water up to 37 ° C to increase the separation. Regulation of capacity is achieved through the supply oil pump, and the operating with separator is doing by the main control panel and through the manual valve for discharging and cleaning of separator.

11. MAIN PANEL WITH MIXING VALVES FOR PREPAIRING AND HEATING OF TECHNOLOGICAL WATER TYPE MOLINOVA

It is using for kneading group in treatment and also for technological consumption and it is consists of:
Plate heat exchangers, expansion tank, pipe valve safety systems and all the necessary equipment.

Fuel: gas oil
Remark:
Tank for gas oil capacity of about 2,000 l with equipment is not the subject of delivery – it is supplied by the end user.

12. MAIN ELECTRICAL CONTROL PANEL

It is using to control with whole plant during operation. It can be controlled by mechanical switches or by touch screen.

13. STEEL CONSTRUCTION FOR CONECTING THE MACHINES

It is using for connecting each machines, by cables and piping’s, and consists of square "U" metal canals and vertical supports as well as all necessary screw connections.

INSTALLATION, COMMISSIONING AND START UP

Installation – verbally instruction of your staff, as well as technical support during the processing by professional and authorized service of the Ino principals, is included in the price.

Remark:
The interconnection of two thermocouples and the gas oil boiler with the kneading machines and the tank for gas oil is on the side of the end user, according to the technical instructions and the lay out.
